Dyslexia Therapist and Practicioner's Training:
The JPW Teacher Training Center offers a 2 year training course in Academic Language Therapy using Take Flight: A Comprehensive Intervention for Students with Dyslexia developed at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, TX. The prerequisite to begin this training is a bachelors degree. Graduate hours may be obtained for attending this training program through Midwestern State University. The Trainee must contact Midwestern State University for details. The dates for this training will be in San Angelo June 12-23, 2017 and in Midland July 17-28, 2017 at the TLCA Elementary Campus located at 3300 Thomas Avenue Building R in Midland, TX. The deadline for the San Angelo Training is May 30th (deadline extended); Midland June 15, 2017. The $250.00 deposit must accompany your application, transcripts and other items requested in the application, see link for application at the bottom of this page. Rite Flight Training Reading Rate Training:
The JPW Learning Center offers Rite Flight Training to teachers, this is a class room program that helps students with reading comprehension and fluency. This curriculum was developed by the staff at the Lucias Waites Center for Dyslexia and other learning disorders at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for children. This is a one day training scheduled on an as requested basis.
Multi-Sensory Math Training:
The Mulitsensory Math Course is for teachers who are working with students who suffer from dyscalculia. This course enables teachers to teach these students from learning basic addition, subtraction through Algerbra classes. This is a three day course and is presented on an as requested basis.
